Engines from Kingston and Surbiton station rushed to Seven Kings Road yesterday afternoon after the black and white moggie was spotted stuck outside a tower block window five storey up.
It is not clear how the cat became trapped outside the window with just inches of room to manoeuvre between the glass and a safety guard.
But when a firefighter reaches the terrified feline he prises open the window and nudges the cat inside.
Mel Kirkcaldy, who works at Battersea Dogs and Cat Home, snapped photos of a firefighter climbing up to rescue the worried feline.
She said: “Amazing work by the @LondonFire today rescuing this poor distressed cat in Kingston.”
