A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed outside a cafe in Tolworth this afternoon.

The attack happened just before 6pm close to Lebanese cafe and takeaway Rose Kitchen.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.

Police cordoned off a section of the road from Jaipur restaurant to Radio Jackie's offices.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said: "The man was in front of the restaurant. They [he] ran away then they sat down on the floor."

It is believed the 23-year-old was injured on his side. Radio Jackie reported the victim was stabbed "four or five" times.

Another witness said: "He was clutching his stomach area, you could see he had been stabbed through his jumper.

"First on scene where the police, then a paramedic car, about five minutes later the ambulance arrived."
