Carshalton Athletic progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy after coming from behind to beat a spirited Egham Town side.
The Robins would eventually win 2-1 thanks to second-half strikes from Tommy Bradford and Bobby Price, to stretch the club’s unbeaten run to four games in all competitions.
Bradford said: “We didn’t play well in the first-half and Egham probably deserved to get in front, although we were disappointed to concede right on half-time."
Interim boss Ian Hazel made a double substitution at the start of the second-half and altered his side’s tactics – moves which helped Carshalton get a foothold in the game.
“We also showed more composure on the ball and got our wingers more involved which helped create more space for ourselves,” Bradford added, who got his side level on 57 minutes with an angled drive from 15 yards.

Defender Price grabbed his second goal in two FA Trophy appearances as Egham failed to track his forward run, and he found himself picking up a Bradford flick to firmly curl the ball home with five minutes to go.
“Bob came out of nowhere,” said Bradford. “I was trying to latch onto my own touch as I turned my marker but he took it so well I can’t complain.”
The draw for the next round of the FA Trophy is made today (November 4) with ties due to be played on November 16, and Bradford revealed he and his team-mates will be relishing it.
“We were buzzing after the final whistle and looking forward to see who we will get,” he said.
“There is a good spirit in the dressing room at the moment and we’ll look to keep earning positive results.”
Carshalton’s next game has them travelling to Wealdstone in the Ryman Premier on November 9.
