Ambitious entrepreneurs had the chance to show off their budding businesses last weekend at Wimbledon's first ever Young Enterprise Fair.

The fair showcased businesses set up by Year 10 and Year 11 students from schools in Merton, Sutton and neighbouring boroughs as part of the Young Enterprise scheme.

The award for best trade stand went to ‘Cover Initiative’ from Kings College Wimbledon who had designed an iphone cover case.

The prize for best product went to Wimbledon High School with their Fast Pass product - a retractable Oyster card holder.

While the award for best sales presentation went to Altitude, from Sutton Grammar, for their Grip Glove fitness accessory for use with a fitness bike.

Diana Sterck, chief executive of the Merton Chamber of Commerce, said: "The Trade Fair will have given all the Young Enterprise companies a real experience of what it is like to set up and sell out in the open and how the weather can have a real effect on business – they were all amazing"

The event, held on March 23 on the Wimbledon Piazza, was supported by the Merton Chamber of Commerce and town centre improvement group Love Wimbledon.
