The mother of killer Levi Bellfield has been arrested on suspicion of intimidating one of her son’s former partners.
Traveller Jean Bellfield, 74, was arrested with her partner at their home in Feltham and taken to Staines police station for questioning.
She has been accused of driving slowly past the alleged victim’s home, in the Esher area, for many years.
Her son was sentenced to life in prison in June last year after a jury at the Old Bailey found him guilty of abducting and killing Walton teenager Milly Dowler, 13.
Mrs Bellfield had always protested her son’s innocence and supported him throughout his trial.
Bellfield, 43, is also serving life for murdering Amelie Delagrange, 22, and Marsha McDonnell, 19, and the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy, 18. He was refused the right to appeal against his conviction earlier this month.
A spokesman for Surrey Police said: “A man and a woman arrested earlier today (Monday, February 13) at an address in Feltham have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.”
