A man was ‘hit in the face with a plank with a nail through it’ in a Surbiton alley, according to a witness.
The witness, who lives nearby in Hobill Walk, said there was a group of people down the alley on Friday, August 25.
After some time, the situation became heated and the witness said five people began beating the man, who then fell through a fence.
One of the people then allegedly picked up a plank, which had a nail in it, and hit the man in the face, giving him a horrible injury.
Another neighbour said there is still blood on the ground.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called on Friday, August 25 at 4.43pm hours to a disturbance in Hobill Walk, Surbiton.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man with a facial injury. He was taken to a south London hospital where he was later released.
“Two men, aged 21 and 25 were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been released under investigation pending further enquires.
“Enquiries continue.”
