Campaigners could march through the centre of Kingston next month, in opposition to cuts to the borough’s health services.
Seven activists from the Keep Our NHS Public group met at Kingston University’s Penrhyn Road campus on Wednesday and resolved to organise a march on February 16.
The group opposes NHS South West London’s Better Services Better Value review, which says the region’s four main providers will have to save £370m per year by 2016/17 — a 24 per cent reduction in costs, which the review argues is not a budget cut.
Co-organiser Richard Donnelly, said: “Kingston is the place where a demonstration could have an effect on national government because we have a cabinet MP here.”
