A 20-year-old man who is banned from Sutton High Street has been jailed for three weeks.

Unemployed Paramkesh Ballgobin, of no fixed abode, has been jailed for breaching an Anti-Social Behaviour Order which bans him from Sutton High Street.

He received his sentence at Croydon Magistrates Court on Thursday August 2. The day before Ballgobin was spotted outside Poundland in the high street by officers from Sutton’s Town Centre Police Team.

He was arrested for being in breach of his Asbo.

Ballgobin received his two-year Asbo at Croydon Magistrates Court on June 14, 2012, after he was convicted for shoplifting in Asda on the high street.

The court heard that Ballgobin had appeared before magistrates a number of times over the last six months for shoplifting in the town centre.

They heard that Ballgobin had acted in a manner which caused, or was likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons.

The Asbo bans him from St Nicholas Way to Throwley Way and all the way along the High Street to the Magnet showroom. If you see Ballgobin breaching his Asbo contact police immediately on 999. The ASBO lasts until 14th June 2014.
