An armed man threatened staff at a Worcester Park bank this morning.
The man, who had a handgun, demand money from cashiers at the Central Road branch of Abbey National at around 11.44am.
But he left empty handed, fleeing in the direction of the railway station.
Armed officers attended the scene and the Met's Flying Squad are investigating the incident.
The man is described as mixed race and aged in his 40s.
He was wearing a black baseball cap and a dirty white jacket.
