On Epsom Common there are posts that bear the arms of the City of London. Is this another connection to London which might be looked at to argue for Epsom being in London?

Since Nonsuch Palace was royal, should not Epsom become part of the Royal Borough of Kingston? I would guess the Queen would be happy with royal borough status for Epsom. After all, it is home to one of her favourite race meetings!

I am sure that pensioners would favour becoming a London borough for the Freedom Pass alone. There must be many who would appreciate relief from the upward march of fares. In particular the growing number of them who are having to work despite reaching retirement age.

Since there is no longer a comprehensive adult education centre in Epsom going to centres outside of the borough means higher fees than those paid  by people resident in other boroughs. This militates against people trying to get qualifications for employment.

Perhaps the council should publish a paper on the pros and cons which could be put to the local electorate.
