Last week we learned that Chris Grayling's policy to ban families from sending books to their loved ones in prisons is illegal.
As Justice Secretary surely he should have known that this policy would be struck down by the courts. Instead, he has gambled with taxpayers' money and been defeated in court yet again.
Rather than ensuring his policies comply with the law, Grayling's latest bright idea is to prevent ordinary people from holding the Government to account by restricting the use of Judicial Review. This mechanism has been responsible for identifying and ending a number of injustices caused by those in Westminster.
With every passing day we see exactly why the legal profession has had enough of the Justice Secretary. As many legal experts have said, we have the least legally literate Lord Chancellor in history.
