Last week P A Feltham wrote to complain about the lack of investment by the Government in our flood defences and suggests that the UK's £230m a week contribution to foreign aid should be cut to fund this.
I am proud that our government have kept their promises on aid - which is still only around 1 per cent of overall spend and is helping to save the lives of refugees in Syria and the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
To fund our flood defences, why not ask the richest rather than the poorest to pay?
It is estimated that tax dodging- by the likes of Starbucks, Google and Amazon - costs the UK over £1billion a week - far more than aid.
Surely that's where the government should look first to find the money?
