The headline on page 2 of the Epsom Guardian dated 15th August states No Public Consultation.

Peter Williamson says the closure of Edics was done without public consultation and worries that patients will suffer but where was the public consultation or concern when the reverse was done and services moved from Epsom General Hospital to community providers forcing many patients to travel further?  Where was the public consultation when trauma and emergency surgery were taken from Epsom General Hospital to St. Helier?  When he states that clinicians who patients saw in Edic's clinics would not necessarily be willing to continue doing the same work for alternative providers, where is the care and compassion or concern for patients then?

Epsom General Hospital has come to the rescue at short notice with weekend and evening clinics so patients will not suffer or be let down.  Let us not forget that in the future.

Epsom General Hospital have a great team who have rallied round so people will not suffer and who will look after their patients in their hour of need.

Surely Epsom General Hospital is providing Care in the Community and Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Group should recognise this when planning future care.
