Woking bound trains are unable to call at Esher, Hersham and Walton, causing mayhem for rush-hour commuters.
South West Trains tweeted to commuters that the problem was due to a track issue.
They advised travellers going to the stations to get to Weybridge and change for a train back.
Travellers going from Esher, Hersham or Walton towards Woking are advised to travel to Surbiton and change for a return to Woking.
