Hollywood actor and Zorro legend Antonio Banderas has said living in Surrey is “magical”.

The 55-year-old Spanish actor spoke to the Sunday Times about living in his five-bedroom Huf Haus near Cobham with his 36-year-old girlfriend Nicole Kimpel.

He said of his split-roof three-storey model home: “This house gives me the simplicity and freedom I need in my life at the moment.

“I find Surrey magical. I am not a party person anymore, so I have the space and peace to write and really get inside my own head – I am working on several scripts.

“I go cycling in the woods, and everyone in Cobham, Weybridge and Esher is incredibly friendly. Above all I am surrounded by nature. I love watching the deer and foxes that come to my garden.”

He and Kimpel paid over £2.4 million for the house last year, which has about 6,000 sq ft of living space, four large reception areas and more than an acre of gardens.

According to Banderas’ Twitter feed he has spent the past week jetting around the world, posting messages from Iceland and Canada.

Huf Haus is a German company that makes pre-fabricated timber homes.
