The Conservatives held on to one of the wealthiest parts of Kingston today in the Coombe Hill by-election.
Tory candidate Gaj Wallooppillai triumphed but Labour pushed the Liberal Democrats into third place as their vote collapsed.
The Coombe Hill by-election was called after Conservative David Edwards resigned to undergo chemotherapy.
Much of the ward is taken up by four golf courses, although Kingston Hospital and Kingston University's Kingston Hill campus and the Kingsnympton estate also lie within its borders.
