A singing 76-year-old has been serenading supermarket shoppers.

Former black cab driver Ray Horry is proving a hit with shoppers at Morrisons in Sutton High Street, where he performs almost daily near the checkouts.

Using his walking stick as a microphone and dressed in a sharp suit, the crooner has won the hearts of some of the ladies.

He also likes to perform on buses.

His favourite number is a version of Roger Whittaker's The Last Farewell.

He said: "It's just a bit of fun really. I just can't stop doing it."

"I love singing to the staff. I'm glad some of them seem to like it. Some people have told me they have never been serenaded before"

"People have told me I should be on the X-Factor but I know I don't have the voice for it. I love the singing though."
