England captain John Terry disappointed hundreds of fans when he failed to show up to open a snake shop.
The England Captain was due to cut the ribbon to mark the grand opening of Reptile Kingdom, in Ewell Road, as a favour to owner Terry Clark, earlier today, but never arrived.
Crowds of people queued outside the shop to get a glimpse of the Chelsea defender going head to head with a Royal Python, but were left to admire the shop’s reptilian creatures instead.
At one point a Provan Albino Corn Snake briefly escaped out of its cage sending a murmur of panic among some customers.
Mr Clark, 33, from Ealing, who knows the footballer through a mutual friend, said he didn’t realise the turnout would be so big.
Terry featured in a 1-0 defeat to west London rivals QPR at the weekend, a game where two of his teammates were sent off.
