A newly refurbished pub is opening its doors to unveil its new look with a community celebration.

The Waggon and Horses in Surbiton Hill Road, which has been closed for two weeks while it was gutted inside and out, is hosting an opening party for all to enjoy on Friday, September 30.

The made over Surbiton pub now boasts new garden areas at the front and back, new patio doors and a tiled floor to give a conservatory feel, as well as private dining areas with bespoke furniture.

The opening party, which is due to start at 7pm, will offer free champagne, live acoustic music and canapés which are mini versions of dishes from the pub’s new menu.

Director of Absolute Pubs, which owns the Waggon and Horses, Sarah Bailey said: “It looks completely different now inside. We are really hoping we are going to get a buzz going at the opening.”

The food-focused pub aims to use fresh and seasonal ingredients and their autumn menu includes a game stew and homemade pies.
