A young musician is celebrating her virtuoso exam performance.
Cellist Sasha Boult, 10, is the youngest pupil at Wimbledon High School to ever pass the Associated Board of Music’s grade eight test.
The exam is the toughest one offered to schoolchildren learning an instrument, and challenges young cellists to perform work including pieces by Beethoven, Vivaldi and Chopin.
Sasha, from Kingston, also won a scholarship to take part in the National Children’s Orchestra.
A spokesman for the Mansel Road school said: “To be awarded the top grade by the Associated Board of Music at such a young age is remarkable.”
