The Liberal Democrats have won the Surbiton Hill byelection.
John Ayles is the new councillor for the ward after winning the majority of votes.
The results are:
Lib dems: 997 votes
Labour: 349 votes
Conservatives: 895 votes
Christian Peoples Alliance: 171 votes
James Riding (Independent): 21 votes
Green Party: 81 votes
