A boy who died at a primary school in Surbiton had fallen off a climbing frame.
It is understood the six-year-old fell from the climbing frame at Tolworth Junior School in Douglas Road.
London Ambulance said when paramedics arrived the child was unconscious and not breathing.
A spokesman said he was taken to a west London hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are currently treating the death as unexplained and have launched a full investigation.
A spokesman for LAS said: “We were called just before 1pm to Douglas Road in Surbiton.
“We sent two ambulance crews and a single responder in a car to the scene.
“Our staff treated one patient – a child in a serious condition – and took them to hospital.”
More to come.
