Edward Davey's parliamentary seat of Kingston and Surbiton is due a shake up as it loses New Malden and gains parts of north Kingston.

The voting changes also affect neighbouring Richmond Park and Twickenham MPs Zac Goldsmith and Vince Cable.

A leaked Boundary Commission report is proposing to cut the number of MPs down from 650 to 600.

The report said: "In Kingston upon Thames, we noted that the electorate was too small for two constituencies.

"We propose a Kingston and Surbiton constituency that contains 11 wards, including two (Canbury and Tudor) from the existing Richmond Park constituency.

"We also propose to include the remaining five Kingston upon Thames wards in a Wimbledon and New Malden constituency, together with seven Merton wards."

Beverley, Old Malden, St James, Coombe Vale and Coombe Hill would move into a new Wimbledon seat, currently held by Conservative Stephen Hammond.

Richmond Park and Twickenham would be merged into one parliamentary seat, potentially pitting Conservative MP Zac Goldsmith and Liberal Democrat MP and cabinet member Vince Cable against each other for the seat in 2015 when the changes would have taken effect.

The report was leaked onto the Guido Fawkes political blog today.

MPs were supposed to have been given a day to read the report before the proposals were made public at midnight.

Voters will have their chance to have a say during a 12-week consultation from September 13 to December 5.
