Dominic Raab MP swapped his suit for combat gear as cadets put him through his paces at their base.
Mr Raab, MP for Walton and Esher, visited Walton army cadets on July 27, and was introduced to the cadets during an inspection by regiment quartermaster Sergeant (RQS) Charlie Cooper.
He raised a few laughs when he tried to climb a log during a training exercise, but enjoyed his day nonetheless.
He said: “RQS Cooper runs a tight ship. I was thoroughly impressed with the team ethos and camaraderie at the Walton detachment.
“The cadets provide a great opportunity for youngsters to learn life skills, make friends and have fun.
“It couldn’t happen without the commitment and dedication of Sergeant Cooper and the other volunteers.”
