Evil Levi Bellfield has been found guilty of abducting and murdering Walton schoolgirl Milly Dowler nine years ago.

Her mother Sally and Gemma Dowler were in tears as the verdict was delivered moments ago.

The jury has yet to deliver its verdict in the attempted abduction of Shepperton schoolgirl Rachel Cowles, on March 20, 2002, the day before Milly vanished.

The former bouncer and wheelclamper went on to stalk and murder two other young women – hitting Marsha McDonnell, 19, over the head as she got off the bus near her home in Hampton in 2003, and Amelie Delagrange, 22, who suffered serious head injuries near a bus stop at Twickenham Green in August 2004.

Her French family were there today for the verdict.

Bellfield, a former bouncer at Volts nightclub in Kingston, also attempted to murder Kate Sheedy, 18, in Isleworth in May 2004, by running her over but she survived.

A jury of 11 men and women returned their verdicts this afternoon.

On the day Milly vanished Bellfield drove to his girlfriend’s empty flat in Collingwood Place, Walton, turning his phone off for the vital hours in which Milly “disappeared in a flash” while walking past the flat.

The teenager’s skeletal remains were found six months later in woods in woods near Yateley, where Bellfield used to attend horse shows and train his dogs to hunt rabbits.

Prosecutors believe he somehow persuaded her into his flat and killed her.

Bellfield is already serving life for the other murders, with a recommendation he is never released.
