This litterbug driver was caught on camera lobbing rubbish from a car belonging to an environmentally friendly company.

The car, which had three young men in it, was driving through Purley on Saturday when the driver threw the first piece of rubbish out of the vehicle, which is owned by a company which advises homeowners how to reduce its carbon footprint.

Emily Kennett, 29, watched the car’s passengers, travelling along Godstone Road in Purley, continue to sling litter out of the window into the road and at the car in front so her boyfriend started filming on her mobile phone.

The car belongs to Saving Energy UK a company which advises home owners on the best way to insulate homes.

Miss Kennett, a pensions administrator from Whyteleafe, said: “The front seat passenger threw out a bag of rubbish and a milkshake bottle while the rear passenger continued to hand over more bottles, which they were emptying out of the windows to throw at the car in front.

“As we got to the Shell garage the driver was passed a Sprite bottle from the rear passenger, who threw it out of the window.

We followed the car from the Co-op on Godstone Road to the Purley Cross Tesco.

“I thought it was disgraceful which is why I had my partner filmed them doing it.

"They were quite young and looked like office boys.

“They kept throwing bottles at the car in front. I couldn’t believe how many bottles they had in the car.”

Mick Lindores, the company’s transport manager, said the driver had already been spoken to and was facing disciplinary procedures.

Mr Lindores said: “Obviously we take any type of complaint extremely seriously.

"I can assure you the driver involved will be pulled in and taken through the disciplinary procedure. " This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and will be dealt with.”
