More than a hundred people are watching a suburban skiing event, where competitors ski with blocks of ice strapped to their feet.
The Surbiton Ski Sunday is underway at St Mark’s Hill, where a 21-meter ski track has been set up for the keen participants.
Those who sign up for the event get blocks of ice strapped to their feet and slide through a track surrounded by spectators.
The world record of suburban skiing formerly held by Captain Rob Smith, who skied down the 21-meter track in 12.53 seconds, has been broken today.
The new world record holder is Jack Dimes, with the impressive time of 10.56 seconds.
