The Antiques and Fine Art Fair returns to Esher Hall at Sandown Park racecourse next month.

This year’s fair promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more than 30 returning and new exhibitors showing off their best pieces.

The fair has something for everyone, with an impressive mix of antiques spanning the Georgian and Regency periods alongside more contemporary works. These include town and country furniture, carpets and rugs, sculpture, paintings, jewellery, silver, glass, porcelain and much more.

Highlights include a William & Mary period chest on stand, made by the Royal cabinetmaker, Gerrit Jensen, whose other work resides in Kensington Palace and Hampton Court.

Plaza jewellers add a touch of Hollywood sparkle with a sapphire and diamond bombe ring, by Oscar Heyman, who was a top jeweller to Los Angeles celebrities.

Pieces of local interest include a pair of oils entitled Edge of a Surrey Village and contemporary paintings by Surrey-based artist Ruud Antonius.

The British Antiques Furniture Restorers’ Association will demonstrate decorative techniques such as gilding, carving, painting and upholstery.

They will share their knowledge and skills, discussing queries and giving recommendations.

The fair is open from Friday, October 8, to Sunday, October 10. Tickets are £5 including catalogue and re-admission.
