Police are searching for attackers who sprayed a youth in the face with a mystery liquid on Sunday, August 15.

Four youths from Surbiton were outside Our Lady Immaculate in Ewell Road, 12.45am when they were approached by four men, of about 18 years old, who demanded their property.

Two of the men attempted to take property from the pockets of one of the youths and he reacted by grabbing their arms and pushing them away.

One of the men then took out what looked like a marker pen from his pocket, twisted the top and sprayed an unknown liquid in the victim’s chest and face.

A police spokesman said: “The liquid caused a burning sensation and affected the victim's breathing through his nose and mouth. He subsequently spent the night at Kingston Hospital having his eyes washed.”

Anyone with any information should call Kingston CID on 020 8247 4909 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
