A Surbiton pub which had its licence revoked when an antique shotgun was found on the premises has been allowed to re-open, despite two petitions from residents.

The Angel in Howard Road will regain its licence after police vetted a newly designated premises supervisor provided by the Wellington Pub Company, which owns the lease.

But the pub will have to provide two door staff from 9pm, when alcohol is going to be sold or drunk after midnight or when international football matches are on TV.

The pub lost its licence temporarily on February 9, when police found an antique shotgun and ammo in an upstairs room.
