Volunteer collectors will be at various places around the borough including Richmond town centre and will be wearing MS Society identification.

The MS Society is the nationwide charity dedicated to supporting the 85,000 people with MS in the UK.

The Richmond upon Thames branch provides support at local level as well as helping to fund research into this devastating disease.

Lunchtime Good food, good raffle, good company between 12.30pm and 2pm in St Winefride's Church Hall, Leyborne Park, Kew Gardens. Enjoy a simple meal of homemade soup, cheese and pudding, tea/coffee for £3.50 on the first Friday of each month, except January and August. The next first Friday lunch will be on June 1 for ITDG, a charity which aims to help eradicate poverty in developing countries through the development and use of technology. Last month, £180 was sent to the Friends of Abbeyfield, Kew.

Guide dogs AGM The AGM of the Richmond, Twickenham and District Branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind will be held on Thursday June 7 at the Royal British Legion Hall, off the Chertsey Road in Richmond. Anyone who would like to attend, who is interested in becoming a volunteer, charity collector or would like to join the committee is welcome to attend. Furniture open days A selection of good quality secondhand furniture - some at bargain prices is available at the Richmond upon Thames Furniture Scheme.

Go along Mondays to Thursdays 10am to 3pm. In addition, an open day will be held on Saturday June 2 and July 7, 10am-12 noon.
