Hot shot Tottenham fan Steffan Chirazi has gone to great lengths to earn his title as Fan of the Month.

The San Francisco ex-pat, who hails from Surbiton, travels more than 35,000 miles back to the borough to watch the beautiful game each season.

This season alone he has seen 10 games home and away. He visited the Spurs' training ground to receive his Barclays Fan of the Month Award from his favourite player, Ledley King, last week.

The 38-year-old rock journalist has been travelling the oceans to see Spurs since moving to California in 1986, and always manages to fit in time with his family in Surbiton. And he's even passed on his wisdom to son Zak who left hospital as a newborn baby wearing a Tottenham Hotspur baby grow.

Mr Chirazi said: "I've been a Spurs fan all my life. When I moved to San Francisco I was determined to continue making trips back to the UK to watch them live. It's fantastic that I've been given the Barclays Fan of the Month Award. The least I could do was fly over to receive the award in person and catch Charlton v Spurs on Wednesday night."

Nic Gault, Barclays' sponsorship director, said: "Steffan has travelled a phenomenal amount of air miles to watch his beloved Spurs. We're delighted to officially recognise his dedication."

The Barclays Fan of the Month Award entries are selected via BBC Radio Five 606.
