Weybridge woman Rachel Bates is trekking along the Great Wall of China to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital children's charity.
Rachel, of Arlington Lodge in Monument Hill, is part of a 40-strong team of trekkers in training for a gruelling climb along the Great Wall of China in October to help sick children at the hospital.
The journey will take seven days, during which Rachel will trek from Beijing to Juyongguan.
She said: "Knowing that I'll be helping the children at Great Ormond Street, all of whom are facing their own personal challenges, will be a huge help in successfully completing this trek."
Readers can help Rachel reach her £5,000 goal by popping into Aphrodite, 46 High Street, Weybridge. She is also appealing to local businesses for sponsorship. In return she will wear the company logo on a t-shirt during the trek.
