A Walton businessman is so confident his new inkjet shop will save people money, he is offering to refund more than the difference if he is beaten on price.

Nigel Bishop, managing director of Printcartridgworld, in Station Avenue, Walton, opened the specialised ink cartridges store on June 30, because he was sick of seeing printer owners being ripped off for replacement ink cartridges.

If the same inkjet product is found to be available locally at a lower price within seven days of purchase, Mr Bishop will refund 110% of the difference.

Mr Bishop said: "The situation has got completely out of hand.

"The cost of an inkjet printer can be as low as £34 but it can cost up to £1,700 in running costs over an 18-month period.

"Last summer, a report by Which Magazine found that some printer ink cost more per millilitre than vintage champagne.

"It's about time the local area had a friendly specialised one-stop shop for printer ink products and it is very satisfying to know that we could be saving local home and business customers up to £1000 a year".
