From Alan Tyler SIR. I was surprised to see among the list of Second World War dead at Surbiton War Memorial the name of C J Barton VC. Like most people, I had no idea that we had a local VC.
I would like to make the suggestion that to mark the 60th anniversary of his death in 1944, the council considers naming a building, or even a road, in his honour.
