From Tony Boreham SIR. Back in the 1960s in Kingston, there used to be a pop group called The Imparlers. I was wondering if they were still going, and if by any chance, your readers have any information on them.

When I was a youngster, I used to go to quite a few of their gigs around the Kingston area. The other day, I was looking though some old family photos and I found a reference to them.

I remember one chap, one of the guitarists, who had (in those days) black hair and wore Buddy Holly-style glasses, worked on a fish stall in Kingston Market Place.

The stall was opposite the original Boots store, which is now Next. He always wore black Wellington boots and a white coat.

The last time I recall seeing him he had grey hair, but was still wearing the Buddy Holly glasses.

It would be nice to know if they are still going, and if there are any tapes of their music around.

Anyone with information can contact Mr Boreham via the Comet newsdesk, at the address above.
