Conservative London mayoral candidate Steve Norris launched a poster campaign to tackle crime in Kingston town centre last week.
The campaign uses the idea that London could reduce the level of crime in the way New York did in the 1990s.
Former mayor Rudolf Giuliani cut crime by half during his campaign, and Mr Norris believes the London mayor could do the same.
