An 80-year-old cyclist has died after a crash with a van in Tadworth.

At 11.56am yesterday (December 6), police were called to the collision on the A217 Mill Road.

The cyclist died at the scene and his family have been made aware.

The van driver stopped at the scene and has fully cooperated with police.

No arrests have been made.

Road closures were in place on the A217 yesterday while investigations were carried out.

Police are now asking for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam/helmet cam footage to contact police quoting reference number PR/ 45220132258.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A217 Mill Road, Tadworth yesterday morning (December 6).

“At around 11.56am, officers were called to reports of a collision between a van and a cyclist.

“An 80-year-old man has sadly died at the scene.

“His next-of-kin have been made aware.

“The driver has been fully cooperating with officers.

“No arrests have been made.
