After a phenomenal tournament at Euro 2020, Gareth Southgate's England side were defeated at the final hurdle in agonising fashion by Italy at Wembley last night (Sunday, July 11).

Fans across the country gathered in their millions to watch the game at their homes, big screen venues and pubs and restaurants everywhere as England drew 1-1 with Italy before narrowly losing out on penalties.

Kingston was no exception, with The Oak pub and the Wheelright Arms hosting some of the liveliest gatherings of fans in town as England went toe to toe with Italy over 120 minutes and into the dramatic shootout that followed.

Photographer Oliver Monk was on site to document the highs and lows of the night, from Luke Shaw's stunning opener to the heartbreak of penalties at the tournament's conclusion.
