Martin Johnson and Sally Gunnell were amongst a host of famous faces who took part in this year's Prudential RideLondon.
Other celebrities included Lemar, Dermot Murnaghan, Heather Stanning and Louise Minchin. Despite the rain, riders cycled through the heart of London and Surrey.
Developed by the Mayor of London after the 2012 Olympics, Prudential RideLondon is 'the world's greatest festival of cycling'. The route takes riders through Richmond Park, Kingston, Esher and down to Dorking. Riders go back into London via Raynes Park, Putney and ends at The Mall.
The London-Surrey 100 event starts at the crack of dawn in the Olympic Park and follows a 100-mile route through the capital and into Surrey's countryside.
It finishes on The Mall in central London, shortly before 150 professional cyclists race in the Prudential RideLondon on a similar route.
Participants ride to raise money for charities of there choice. Despite advice on coping with the heatwave, treacherous weather hampered this year's race, with heavy rain and wind making for difficult conditions during the 100-mile cycle.
While Britain's Geraint Thomas clinched Tour De France victory in Paris, it was German Pascal Ackermann who came out on top in a thrilling race. Despite crashing out mid-race, the German was able to recover with the help of his teammates and beat of Italian Elia Viviana.
Sadly, a 69-year-old man collapsed during the race. Nigel Buchan-Swanson, from Chichester, had a Cardia Arrest 56 miles into the event.
The event attracted almost 100,000 cyclists to the roads of London and Surrey as 26,720 people finished the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, 46 and 19 sportives today.
