A six-year-old Surbiton theatre school pupil has taken a role in a Hollywood blockbuster.

Maya Kelly, one of the youngest students at Dance Shack, plays the grand-daughter of Christopher Plummer (previously Kevin Spacey) Ridley Scott’s new movie All the Money in the World.

Maya was only five when the filming took place in Italy.

She said: “I was really excited, but nervous, but excited I got to be in a film with a real famous girl called Michelle Williams.

“I can’t believe I am in it. I know I am dramatic and I’m a little funny but I never thought I was going to be in a film.”

On legendary Alien and Blade Runner director Ridley Scott, Maya said: “I thought he was a really, really amazing man.

“He is a very nice man.”

Maya’s teacher Julia Cave said: “Maya is an exuberant young performer who is great to teach. She sparkles every week in class with her talent and creative imagination.

“She has a warmth and openness, and I’m not surprised she caught the attention of the casting directors for the film. We are all so excited for her.”

Two other Dance Shack students have also scored high profile acting jobs.

Jenny Richardson, 13, who attends the school in Leatherhead, is reprising her role as the title character Ethel Hallow in the CBBC/Netflix production The Worst Witch.

Eight-year-old Miller Morris, who also attends Dance Shack’s Leatherhead school, plays Eric in the RSC’s West End production of Matilda.
