A Shell garage in New Malden which has been derelict for four years may finally be getting re-developed.

Langham Homes bought the site in Coombe Road off Frontier Estates, who failed to get planning permission for a 26-unit apartment building in 2015.

The application in 2016, which consists of 21 flats, was approved and Langham Homes is going ahead with that model “with a few minor tweaks” they intend to submit early next year.

Surrey Comet: Drawing plans

In a statement, Langham Homes said: “We are delighted to launch our new development – The Exchange Apartments.

“We are planning to start on-site early in the New Year with the apartments coming to market in early summer.”

The developers are planning to build 21 one and two bedroom apartments, along with 12 parking spaces and one electric charging point.

The Shell garage on the site closed in 2013.
