Two women and a man arrested in connection with the murder of a West Molesey mother have been bailed.

The 44-year-old and 20-year-old women from Oxshott were arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in connection with the murder of antiques dealer Robyn Mercer on March 14.

They have been bailed until June 28.

Two 26-year-old men from West Molesey, who had both previously been arrested on suspicion of Ms Mercer’s murder, were rearrested yesterday on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and commit murder.

One of the men has been bailed until June 28 while the other remains in police custody.

A 52-year-old man remains on bail until May 19 after being arrested the day Ms Mercer was found bludgeoned to death in her front garden in Abbey Walk, Walton Road.

Yesterday’s events brought the total number of arrests in the case to five.

A post-mortem examination found mother-of-two Ms Mercer, 50, died from multiple blows to the head.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: “Three people who were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Robyn Mercer have been bailed pending further enquiries.

“The man and two women were arrested after teams of Surrey Police officers executed warrants at four addresses in north Surrey as part of the ongoing investigation.

“The day of activity saw specialist officers working together to build on intelligence to support enquiries to bring those responsible for Robyn’s murder to justice.”

Officers have appealed to the public to contact them on 101 if they witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or saw a vehicle in the vicinity of Walton Road between 8pm on Sunday, March 13 and 8am on Monday, March 14.
