Three elderly men have been arrested as part of an investigation into alleged historical child sex offences connected with the Walton Hop disco.

Two men, aged 77 and 86, are from Walton and the third, 70, is from Bayswater.

One is reported to be former DJ Jonathan King - a said regular at the Hop.

All three have been bailed to return in March next year.

Surrey Police said last night they were questioning the men and searching their homes.

The allegations related to "various sexual offences" against boys under 16, the force said.

Detective Chief Inspector Karen Mizzi said: "This is a complex investigation into numerous allegations of sexual abuse and assault dating back over several decades.

"Our investigation focuses on the Walton Hop disco, a popular event for youngsters between the 1970s and 1980s, and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

"If anyone has information that may help the investigation I would ask them to contact us."

The Walton Hop was held at the Walton Playhouse in Hepworth Way.
