Kingston’s Conservatives were out canvassing ahead of this week’s byelection with former England defender Sol Campbell.
Chessington north Councillor Andrew Day managed to get a snap with the ex-Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur footballer in Grove at the weekend.
Mr Campbell, who was out and about in support of Conservative candidate Jenny Lewington, hopes to stand as the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London next year.

But he faces a strong challenge from north Kingston MP Zac Goldsmith, who threw his hat into the ring in June after months of speculation.
Coun Day said: "It was good of him [Mr Campbell] to come down and support our local candidate. "
When pressed about whether the former Portsmouth FC defender would make a better Conservative mayor than Mr Goldsmith, Coun Day replied: "They’re both good candidates".
