A man has died after falling from Tolworth roundabout on to the underpass.

Police closed off the A3 southbound at Tolworth roundabout earlier this morning.

Paramedics were called at about 10.15am.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: "Sadly a man was dead at the scene."

BBC travel tweeted: “A3 Southbound - Closed at Tolworth Roundabout. Someone has fallen from the roundabout and onto the Underpass. Queues building.”

Witness Adam Lotun said: “Police are cordoning off one lane here. There are traffic issues, it’s beginning to get gridlocked.”

A police spokesman said: “A man believed to be in his 30s is believed to have fallen from the bridge. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed. Formal identification has not taken place yet. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
