Wandsworth leisure facilities will benefit from an extra £1m investment, which will be spent over the next two years.
The council say the money will fund new roofs for swimming pools at the centres in Balham and Putney, and will pay for walkways to be refurbished at Tooting Bec Lido.
Water quality and safety at the outdoor pool is also set to be improved as part of the works.
Some of the money will be used to replace the sports hall roof at the Wandle Recreation Centre in Wandsworth, and £200,000 will fund the resurfacing of tennis courts at Barn Elms sport centre in Barnes.
The £1m is largely made-up of grants received by the council.
The local authority has also put aside £1.3m for a proposed 3G all-weather pitch in Battersea’s Falcon Park. If plans are given the go-ahead the work is expected to begin within the next year.
