A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after a motorbike and cyclist crashed in Mitcham Road.
The smash caused traffic chaos during rush hour with seven buses unable to pass through the police cordon near Figges Marsh.
Traffic queued on both sides of the cordon and many road users used side roads to avoid the area.
One man who works nearby said: "The police were here when I got here and they took the people away in an ambulance. I think it was a very bad crash. It is very sad."
The crash happened on the Mitcham Road near the junction with Finborough Road.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “We were called at about 8.10am in the morning to a collision with a motorcyclist and cyclist, near Finborough Road SW17.
“Both parties, a man and a woman, have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be serious. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
Traffic was still tailing after 9am this morning after police taped off the road.
Buses were stuck in the queues after the crash with cars turinging around and heading down side roads
On the other side of Tooting station there were also road blocks
