A community group’s fruit and vegetable garden will be blooming wonderfully after donations flooded in.
Environmental group Transition Cobham needed to raised £2,500 by December 22 to build a fence to surround a new community garden.
A campaign was set up through crowdfunder.co.uk and the group raised £2,711, with the additional funds going towards a secure gate.
The garden will be on a 30mx50m patch of land behind the existing allotments on the Leg O' Mutton Field.
A website post said: “In the end we raised £2,711 and showed that the local community are keen to support a community garden.”
