Sporting his very own hand-made uniform, Kingston's youngest police constable joined nearly 200 new police recruits in a passing-out parade.

Malachi Tyler, seven, ticked another wish off his bucket list during the symbolic completion of police training last Friday.

He was diagnosed aged one with an incurable brain tumour and neurofibrosis and has previously visited Kingston police station as part of the list of things he would like to do in his lifetime.

Chief superintendent Glenn Tunstall said: "On the day that this little boy visited Kingston police station for the first time he won the hearts of every member of staff at Kingston.

"His positivity, his cheekiness, the constant giggles and ultimately his courage in the face of adversity humbled us all.

"In the Met one of our values is courage - which is epitomised by this little boy and his family."
